This Privacy Policy explains how DeLow Dynamics (“DeLow Dynamics,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Eloquo, our vocabulary-learning application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It also explains your choices and privacy rights. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. If you create an account or sign in, we may receive your email address, display name, Firebase user identifier, and authentication-provider identifier. Eloquo supports Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, email/password accounts, and limited anonymous authentication. You may use core learning features without creating a traditional account.
  • Learning activity. This may include selected difficulty, challenge answers and results, XP, streaks, saved words, review timing, mastery state, seen or assigned words, learning goals, Letter Lantern progress, and whether you mark a word as practiced or used in conversation.
  • Practice and support content. Sentences you type, challenge reports, and support messages may contain information you choose to provide. Do not enter sensitive personal information in a practice sentence.
  • Purchase status. When you buy or restore Eloquo Ad-Free Forever, Apple processes the payment. Eloquo receives a signed transaction and entitlement status, product identifier, and related purchase metadata needed to unlock and restore the feature. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

Speech, audio, and pronunciation

Eloquo requests microphone and speech-recognition permission only when you start speaking practice. Your device supplies audio to Apple’s Speech framework for transcription; depending on the device, language, settings, and Apple’s service availability, recognition may occur on-device or may be processed by Apple. Eloquo uses the resulting transcript to evaluate the attempt. We do not intentionally store raw microphone recordings on our servers.

When you request pronunciation, Eloquo sends the text to be spoken—not your microphone audio—to a protected server that uses ElevenLabs to produce audio. Generated audio may be cached by text and voice configuration so the same phrase does not need to be generated repeatedly.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and service information. Our systems and providers may process IP address, device and operating-system information, language, timestamps, request metadata, crash or error information, and security signals needed to deliver and protect the Service.
  • Integrity information. Firebase App Check and Apple DeviceCheck may process integrity tokens and related technical information to distinguish authentic app requests from abuse.
  • Local data. Eloquo stores preferences, notification schedules, cached definitions and speech, offline challenges, ad-frequency counts, purchase entitlement, and learning state on your device. Cached speech is excluded from device backups.
  • Advertising information. The free version may display limited native advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. Google and its partners may process device identifiers, IP address, general location inferred from IP, app interactions, ad impressions and clicks, diagnostics, consent status, and fraud-prevention signals as described in Google’s policies and your regional consent choices.

2. Advertising and tracking

Eloquo limits advertising to natural breaks, caps impressions locally, and does not show an ad while you are answering, writing, speaking, or actively playing. We configure Google Mobile Ads for contextual/non-personalized advertising, disable publisher first-party identifiers, and do not request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission. DeLow Dynamics does not sell personal information or use Eloquo data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Where required, Google’s User Messaging Platform presents consent choices before ads are requested and may provide a privacy-options form in Eloquo Settings. Buying Eloquo Ad-Free Forever stops Eloquo from requesting and displaying ads. Google’s independent processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

3. How we use information

  • Provide authentication, daily challenges, practice activities, definitions, pronunciation, progress synchronization, offline support, notifications, purchases, and restore functionality.
  • Personalize difficulty, avoid unnecessary repetition, schedule reviews, and restore progress on another device.
  • Generate, review, and improve vocabulary content and identify inaccurate or ambiguous challenges.
  • Show limited contextual advertising to eligible free users and honor consent and ad-free entitlement choices.
  • Maintain shared content and audio caches, enforce usage limits, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot failures, and secure the Service.
  • Respond to support and privacy requests, comply with law, and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. Services that process information

  • Google Firebase provides authentication, Firestore database storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and App Check. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform provide native ads, consent management, ad measurement, and fraud prevention. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Apple provides Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, notifications, DeviceCheck, and speech recognition. Apple Privacy Policy.
  • Google Sign-In provides an optional sign-in method.
  • OpenAI may process limited vocabulary text and context needed to generate or verify definitions, examples, word swaps, and challenges. We do not intentionally send your email address or raw microphone audio. OpenAI Privacy Policy.
  • ElevenLabs processes text that should be spoken to generate pronunciation audio. ElevenLabs Privacy Policy.
  • Dictionary services may receive a word lookup when reviewed or cached content is unavailable. We do not intentionally attach your account identity to that lookup.
  • WordPress.com/Jetpack may process ordinary web-server and analytics information when you visit our website or contact us.

Providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, during a corporate transaction, or with your direction or consent.

5. Notifications

Practice reminders are optional. Eloquo requests notification permission only after you choose to enable reminders. Reminder preferences and schedules are stored on your device and, when connected features are used, limited scheduling state may be associated with your account. You can change or disable reminders in Eloquo Settings or iOS Settings.

6. Storage, security, and international processing

Connected account and learning data are stored using Google Firebase. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We use reasonable safeguards including authenticated requests, Firebase security rules, App Check, restricted server-side secrets, verified StoreKit transactions, encrypted network connections, and least-necessary data flows. No security measure or online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account-linked information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. The process removes the Firebase Authentication account and Eloquo learning record, including nested progress data, and clears Eloquo learning history stored locally on that device. If you used Sign in with Apple, Eloquo asks you to reauthorize so the Apple token can be revoked.

Shared vocabulary challenges, reviewed word records, shared pronunciation audio, and aggregate challenge statistics may remain because they are not maintained as personal learner history. When a learner-requested challenge is retained for the shared library, its account association is removed during deletion. Limited information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, transaction records maintained by Apple, or records we must retain for legal, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or operational purposes.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Use core learning features without creating a traditional account.
  • Decline microphone, speech-recognition, or notification permission; only the related optional feature is affected.
  • Change eligible advertising privacy choices through Eloquo Settings when Google requires a privacy-options form.
  • Buy Eloquo Ad-Free Forever or restore a prior purchase to stop ads.
  • Delete your Eloquo account and linked learning data in the app.
  • Depending on where you live, request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or information about processing, and appeal or complain to a data-protection authority.

To make a privacy request, email rich@delowdynamics.com. We may need to verify your request or an authorized agent’s authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

9. Children’s privacy

Eloquo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without legally sufficient parental consent. If you believe a child provided personal information in violation of this section, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate. Users below the age of legal majority should review this policy and our Terms with a parent or guardian.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Eloquo changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
